Let us introduce ourselves, and explain why Hunter’s Bowl was created. My name is Ashley, and my dog’s name is Hunter.

In 2011, I began working at a dog daycare, boarding, and training business after completing a co-op placement and training apprenticeship. I continued to gain knowledge and experience related to canine behaviour during the following 10 years.

In 2015, the focus of my career gradually changed from behaviour to nutrition when I brought Hunter home as a puppy. After 2 years of feeding, what I believed to be, high-quality dry food, Hunter developed dermatosis. I began researching canine nutrition, and learned the dry food I was feeding was a contributing factor in Hunter's dermatosis. I changed Hunter's diet from ultra-processed dry food to biologically-appropriate fresh food, and Hunter started thriving.

In 2019, I began working at a pet food store that promotes fresh feeding, consulting with owners on diet and lifestyle. I've achieved several certifications related to canine nutrition, including Canine Nutrition - Companion Animal Sciences Institute and Professional Canine Formulation - Academy Of Companion Animal Nutrition, and I continue to further my education. I created Hunter's Bowl to share information with owners who want their dogs to live healthier, happier lives.
